English poem
Comely Swain, Why sit'st thou so?
by Anonymous
Comely swain, why sit'st thou so? Fal lal lal, &c. Folded arms are signs of woe. Fal lal lal, &c.
If thy nymph no favour shew, Fal lal lal, &c. Choose another—let her go, Fal lal lal, &c
But if she be kind to you, Fal lal lal, &c. To the rest still bid adieu, Fal lal lal, &c,
Come, then, come, thy mirth renew, Fal lal lal, &c. Loose thy arms, thy love is true, Fal lal lal, &c.
