In all the radiance of the skies She came to bless our longing eyes, Adorn'd with all the charms that can Intoxicate the heart of man, Or bid the frantic passions move To crush the object of their love.

As she her shining race begun, Confest the daughter of the sun, Of all the beams that from him play, She was the most delightful ray; Her brow so black, her lips so red, Her breath by melting blossoms fed, Her eye with beauty so replete, Her breast, where love his music beat, Gay smiles upon her face so fair, And every pleasure painted there.

THO' round her grave the muses play, And many a tender thing they say, Here she did not wish to stay From her Florio far away: Then cheer the night and gild the gloom, Dear keeper of this shaded tomb, 'Till day approach, and opes the door, And morning comes, to cease no more.
