Epitaph on my Uncle's APE
by Anonymous
Under this Slate do lye the last Remains Of one, whom self-conceited Man disdains, And scoffing calls an APE; but MAN was he, If Tumblers, or if Dancing-Masters be. He did, Alive, in either Art excel; And now's Gallanted, by Old-Maids, in Hell.
