Let Heroes Delight
by Anonymous
Let heroes delight in the toils of the war, In maims, blood, and bruises, and blows, Not a sword, but a sword not rejoices the fair! And what are rough soldiers to beaux? Away then with laurels! come beauty and lov And silence the trumpet and drum; Let me with soft mytle my brows bare involve. And tenderly combat at home.
