Let useless riches ne'er engross my care
by Anonymous
Let useless riches ne'er engross my care, The bane of piety, the miser's pray'r; Yet let my purse the mod'rate store contain, To satisfy my wants, and ease my pain; And when the needy at my threshold stand, To soothe their cares, and fill the craving hand.
