Psalm CXXV. Com. Met. Trial and Safety
by Anonymous
Unshaken as the sacred hill, And firm as mountains be, When tempests rise, the soul shall stand, That trusts, O Lord, in thee,
As lofty mountains stood to guard, Fair Salem's happy ground; So God's almighty power and love, Enclose his Church around.
Though he permit the tyrant's rod, T' inflict a chastening stroke; Yet lest it wound the soul too deep, Its fury shall be broke.
The Lord will gently deal with those, Whose filial love and fear, Whose faith and hope and every grace, Proclaim their hearts sincere.
