SONGS for CHILDREN, SONG XVI

Dearest Betsey say, When I was away, Was your sport and play, Innocent and pretty.

Without disguise, Art or lies, Truth I prize, Ask my sister Kitty.

She can tell, Prise knows well, So does Bell, All was good and pretty.

We did read, Sing indeed, Ali agreed, Charley ran with Kitty.

In the shade, Rings we made, Laughing Play'd, Was it not all pretty.

Take a kiss, And for this, Bell and Priss Shall sup on tarts with Betty. You are my darling yet, O pretty, pretty BETT!
