English poem
To DELIA
by Anonymous
My muse aspire me to impart In humble ardent strain, To tell the anguish of my heart To her that caus'd my pain.
Delia is the lovely maid, Alas! thou charming fair, Behold fond Damon seeks thy aid To ease his pain and care.
For thou alone can give relief, Or anguish most severe; Thy rapt'rous charms are all my grief, Until you prove sincere.
