English poem
Whether in winter’s cold or summer’s heat
by Carolyn Wells (1862–1942)
Whether in winter’s cold or summer’s heat My lady trails my first along the street.
My second figures in a certain nine; One of a celebrated Roman line.
Scientists have a theory that my third Makes music,—but it never has been heard.
A couple of my whole go to a ball; And on my whole is room enough for all.
