On Truth in Speaking

I KNOW what Jesus Christ has said; That from the first of things, To lie, was Satan's chief delight, And foremost of his sins.

I know too, for his blessed word, Has likewise told me so; That God is truth, which they who love, To God will surely go.

Then let me constantly speak truth, If I should like to be With God in his resplendent courts, His glorious face to see.

There fear, and pain, and grief and death, Shall all be done away, And joy, and bliss, and life exist, Through Heaven's eternal day.
