Eighth PART. CHETH

by (1815–1882)

Listen in the reader

My Portion thou, Iehovah, art; I said, that I will keep thy Word. With all my Heart I sought thy Face; Thy promis'd Mercy me afford. I view'd my Ways; and turn'd my Feet Unto thy Testimonies Way. I hasted, and deferred not, All thy Commandments to obey. By wicked Troops I have been rob'd; Thy Laws I think on with Delight. I'll rise at Mid-night Thee to praise; Because thy Judgments all are right. Companion to them all am I, That fear Thee, and thy Precepts keep. Earth, Lord, is with thy Goodness fill'd; Teach me thy Statutes, wondrous deep.
