English poem
Sweet Sleep[7]
by Nora Archibald Smith (1859–1934)
Sweet sleep, fleet sleep, Come to Baby here! With thy calm hand, With thy cool hand, Touch these eyelids dear.
Dream-land, gleam-land, Ope thy golden doors. Let these wee feet, Let these soft feet, Tread thy rainbow floors.
White wings, bright wings, Baby, guard thy bed. Angels watch thee, Angels ward thee, Blessings ’round thee shed.
