Shadows

by (1895–1926)

Listen in the reader

Shadows--gray symbol of a broken faith. We cling to hope--in hope we find The symbol of a broken heart. Shadows--gray bleak gossamer web Of what once was woven ’round my heart. We slink within thy domain--the land of shadows. For still we hope. But knowing always, that a broken faith can never be restored To more than it was--a Shadow.
