English poem
Xlix
by Vítězslav Hálek (1835–1874)
The God’s world is so far and wide And goodness in small measure; By thousands one can count the pains And very little pleasure.
The heart is ready to redeem With hundred pains one pleasure-- And the same heart, O God, for love Will suffer past all measure.
