English poem
On the State of the Theatres
by William Kenrick (1774–1829)
One proud Goliah Gath could boast, And Philistines of yore; But Covent-Garden's threatening host Boast one Goliah more.
Yet fear not you of Drury-Lane, By little champion led; Their two Goliahs roar in vain While David's at your head.
