English poem
Fourteenth PART. NUN
by John Barnard (1815–1882)
Thy Word's a Lamp unto my Feet; And shining Light unto my Way. I've sworn, and will the Oath perform; Thy righteous Judgments I'll obey. I am exceedingly distress'd; Revive me, Lord, after thy Word. My Mouth's free Off'rings pray accept; Skill in thy Judgments me afford. My Life is always in my Hand; Yet I thy Law do not forget. Nor have I from thy Precepts err'd; Tho' Snares, for me, the Wicked set. Thy Laws, my lasting Heritage, I've chose; for my Heart's Joy they are. My Heart stands bent to thy Commands; As long as thou my Life shalt spare.
