Listen in the reader

"But if his Sons forsake my Law, "And from my Judgments stray; "If they my Statutes break, and dare "My Precepts disobey: "Their Sin I'll visit with a Rod; "With Stripes, as Crimes prevail. "But from him I'll not take my Love; "My Truth shall never fail. "My Cov'nant I will never break; "Nor, what I've said, deny. "Once, by my Holiness, I've sworn; "I'll not to David lye. "His Race shall never fail; his Throne "Shall, as the Sun, endure: "Fix'd ever, as the Moon; in Heav'n, "Which, Witnesses, are sure. But thine Anointed, thou, in Scorn, And Anger, off hast cast. Thou mad'st thy Servant's Cov'nant void, In Dust his Crown debas'd. Thou, all his Hedges, hast broke down; His Forts in Ruin laid. He's spoil'd by all that by him pass; His Neighbour's Scorn he's made. His Foes thou causest to rejoice; Confirming their Right-Hand. His Sword was blunted, nor could he In Day of Battle stand. His Throne thou level'st with the Ground; And hast eclips'd his Fame. His Youth, and Reign, thou short hast cut; And cover'd him with Shame.
