LESSON II. The knowledge of God to be learnt from the Bible
by Philip Doddridge (1773–1832)
How shall I know my Maker's will, And learn my duty to fulfil? I bless my God for what I hear, His word of life and truth is near.
That sacred book inspir'd by God, In our own tongue is spread abroad; That book may little children read, And learn the knowledge which they need.
