English poem
The living Sacrifice. Rom. xii. 1
by Philip Doddridge (1773–1832)
And will th' eternal King So mean a Gift regard? That Off'ring, LORD, with Joy we bring, Which thine own Hand prepar'd.
We own thy various Claim, And to thine Altar move, The willing Victims of thy Grace, And bound with Cords of Love.
Descend, celestial Fire, The Sacrifice inflame; So shall a grateful Odour rise Thro' our Redeemer's Name.
